Salomon

Salomon was born as a metalworking shop in the French Alps of Annecy, France in 1947 by Fran├žois Salomon, his wife and his son. Salomon started in the business of producing saw blades but soon adapted their equipment to make steel edges for skis, followed by cable bindings. Salomon's main focus was ski bindings until 1979 when the SX90 rear entry ski boot was launched, completely changing the boot market for years; skis followed in 1989, again changing the market with Monocoque design.
