The Burt I binding was produced from spring 1974 to spring1979, with less than 2000 original Burt bindings making it to ski shops late in the 1973-1974 ski season. Improvements for the 1975-1976 models included a protective sleeve on the rear cable. It was dropped from the line for the 1979-1980 season.
The Burt II was introduced 1977-1978 season.
The japanese-made Burt III introduced mid-season 1981-1982, with the Burt III R showing up for the 1982-1983 season.
Burt essentially disappeared for the 1984-1985 season. From the September 1986 issue of SKIING Magazine, "The Burt is no longer made, the victim of inadequate financing, poor quality control and weak marketing."
