Description

The S-111, a new departure in Salomon design, first appeared for 1975-1976 season and was suitable for: (SKIING Magazine September 1976) "children and lightweight adults weighing from 50 to 120 pounds, from beginner to expert"; (SKI Magazine, September 1976) "for lightweight, aggressive skiers - hot-shot kids, lightweight women" (In 1975 Salomon advertises the binding as "A control system especially created for aggressive lightweight skiers"; being suitable for (1976) aggressive junior skiers (1976) and expert skiers weighing 55-90lbs. (1977). Incorporating many of the features of the S-444, the S-111 featured a self-centering toe piece with a high degree of lateral elasticity and an automatic, self-cocking, self-centering, and adjustable heel piece. 1978-1979 season came the introduction of the 727 / 727 Equipe to replace the 555's and the S-111 toe was red; the 626 replaces the 444 in 1979-1980.
