Magazine, September 1976) "for lightweight, aggressive skiers - hot-shot kids, lightweight women" (In 1975 Salomon advertises the binding as "A control system especially created for aggressive lightweight skiers"; being suitable for (1976) aggressive junior skiers (1976) and expert skiers weighing 55-90lbs. (1977). Incorporating many of the features of the S-444
, the S-111 featured a self-centering toe piece with a high degree of lateral elasticity and an automatic, self-cocking, self-centering, and adjustable heel piece.
1978-1979 season came the introduction of the 727 / 727 Equipe to replace the 555's and the S-111 toe was red; the 626 replaces the 444 in 1979-1980.
